On March 21, I attended the Massachusetts and Maine United States Pageants in Portland. I had the opportunity to see old friends (Miss Massachusetts USA 2010, Lacey Wilson, Mrs. Maine United States 2009, Jessica Radley, Mrs. Maine International 2010, Kelly Howe) and to witness the crownings of the new Teen and Miss delegates who will go onto the national United States Pageants. The highlight of the evening for me was meeting former Boston College Heisman Trophy Winner and Patriots Quaterback, Doug Flutie. He and his wife were there to cheer on their daughter who won the Miss Massachusetts United States Pageant. He and his wife were such gracious people never turning anyone away for an autograph or picture and taking the time to talk to anyone who approached. The Flutie family created the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism. For more information on this wonderful organization, please visit their website at http://www.flutiefoundation.org/.
